OWL releases his second EP, "NAMIDA."
The project consists of five tracks, including new songs featuring fresh garage-inspired vibes and lyrics about his hometown, as well as the previously released "STGY" with sosume.
After his first EP "First Soul," OWL experienced frustration, setbacks, and moments that brought tears. Instead of letting those emotions fade, he chose to reinterpret them from a different perspective-seeing tears as a symbol of strength and motivation. That mindset led to the title "NAMIDA."
The lead track, also titled "NAMIDA," was created in a completely different process from his usual style. During a three-day studio session, at the final stage of production, OWL decided to make one more song. He freestyled the melody on the spot, expressing raw feelings of frustration and the will to never give up. The heavy rain that fell during the recording became part of the song's atmosphere, resulting in an emotional yet driving track that captures the feeling of pushing forward through the storm.
The EP features guest appearances from sosume and Filed from his crew Mad Science.
Filed, who released his own EP earlier this year, joins on "Mellow Light."
The song reflects on the early days of rapping at Komazawa Park, blending nostalgic 90s-inspired production with melodic rap to create a warm, sentimental vibe.
Born in 2005, OWL is a rapper from Setagaya Tokyo. He belongs to the crew Mad Science and released his first project First Soul in July 2023. Since then he has been active with music videos live performances and collaborations gradually building his name. His style combines emotional lyrics with melodic rap creating music that connects deeply with people. A promising young artist to watch closely.
