Kiwako Ashimine - Daichi Shiki
1st Single AMANE.
Kiwako Ashimine and Daichi Shiki come from different creative backgrounds. As their sensibilities intersect, a new project begins with their first single, AMANE.
The piece opens with a quiet, classical resonance that feels as though it could settle naturally into the skin of people from ancient Japan. Yet it does not remain within that serenity. Following an unpredictable structure, the sound gradually transforms, eventually unfolding into a world of immense scale.
Over Daichi Shiki's delicate yet bold piano and sound production, Kiwako Ashimine's vocals whisper, layer, respond, and expand dramatically. Stillness and intensity, tension and release coexist as the two artists' distinct sensibilities become interwoven within a single composition.
AMANE portrays a way of being in which two people, knowing they can never truly become one, nevertheless remain beside one another without breaking each other's solitude. Its perspective expands from the innermost reaches of life toward the boundlessness of the universe, tracing birth, scattering, sprouting, and lives that remain connected to something beyond themselves even within solitude.
This is only the beginning of a project that will continue to transform and unfold in new forms.
