FAVES' 6th single "Sorenanoni" (It means Even so) was born through a co-writing session with songwriter and music producer Ryosuke Hosoi.

The track features Mayuko Katakura, a leading pianist in Japan's jazz scene, and KOBY SHY, known as the bassist for Fujii Kaze.

Delicate vocal work intertwines with bold, masterful jazz piano touches and a ground-shaking bass groove, painting a piece of modern R&B where stillness and motion, fragility and depth coexist.

Through this song, FAVES reflects the wavering of self-melancholy and disappointment, defiance and prayer-tracing the subtle fluctuations of human emotion.
Yet, it is not merely an expression of sorrow; it embodies the primal urge to live on, and a quiet hope that asks, "How will we choose to live?"

Cutting sharply through the noise of the times, "Sorenanoni" evokes each listener's own "even so"--
a song that reveals FAVES' renewed determination and artistic resolve.

Born in 1991, FAVES is a Tokyo-based artist and singer-songwriter. Blending R&B, Soul, Jazz, Neo-Soul, and Alternative influences, FAVES weaves delicate vocal work with lyrics that highlight the beauty of the Japanese language. In 2024, together with collaborator Aveli, FAVES launched an independent label, connect Records, and continues to create music outside of the mainstream industry system. In 2020, FAVES was discovered by Shuichi Ikemori of DEEN and released the first mini album "Ivy" as part of the duo connect with Aveli. Since then, FAVES has performed on major stages alongside top-level Japanese vocalists, including providing backing vocals for Nariaki Obukuro's 2022 tour and supporting the renowned a cappella group TRY-TONE as their fourth member in 2024. FAVES' voice effortlessly spans rich lower tones to soaring high notes, and the rhythm and phrasing-strongly influenced by Black music-convey a sense of grounded groove and authenticity. Rooted in pride for having grown up in Japan, FAVES expresses a quiet yet powerful presence that reflects a uniquely Japanese identity within a global sound. Lyrically, FAVES explores deep, universal questions about the human condition, the meaning of life, and the nature of happiness. With a sincere, introspective gaze, their music invites listeners to reflect together-as equals-on what truly matters.
