Fellow Dreamers

People love to drown their lives in alcohol and gossip - talking about how someone else made it, or how many millions of followers someone has.
I got tired of that kind of life.

So I chose this path instead.

And because I kept going - even clumsily, even imperfectly - I ended up seeing a world that can absolutely crush you. A world that can make your chest feel like it's caving in.

Words can linger like slow-burning injections.
Yesterday's humiliation suddenly comes back to you in the tiny gaps of everyday life.

Sometimes tears of frustration spill out no matter what you're doing, and your throat tightens so hard you can barely breathe.

There are always adults who act like mentors, proudly talking about how they once produced some huge somebody, telling you things like
"You're really hopeless,"
or
"You'll never make it,"
even when nobody asked for their opinion.

But honestly, I'm lucky.

Because thanks to them, I was able to paint countless songs with those emotions.

I think dreams are a beautifully scented curse.

You keep carrying them forever.
They always feel just within reach, yet never fully attainable.
And even if you achieve one dream, another one appears, growing bigger day by day.

I won't stop fighting until the day I truly make it into the world -
and those same adults start bragging over drinks, saying,
"I was the one who guided her."
