"Botanical Garden" is a remastered version of a track I originally released in 2012.
Following the old-school rules of hip-hop, I sampled bits of classic Jazz and Soul records from the '70s and '80s, chopped them up in my DAW, and basically clicked away with a mouse until the track started to take shape.
Back then, I wasn't really thinking too much about the process. I just found sounds I liked, cut them up, moved them around, added a few things, and listened again.
For this remaster, I wanted to keep the feel of the original while giving it a little more clarity and balance with the tools I have now.
It's the same "Botanical Garden" I made back in 2012, just heard again through my ears today.

Twon Lake
Trackmaker and DJ. He began producing music under the name Ishizuka Kei in 2004. In 2011, he founded on sunday recordings, followed by the release of the DJ mix series Summer Salt Kick through naipeee in 2014. He released his first album, YELLOW SOURCE, in 2016, followed by his second album, Home Recording, in 2018. In 2020, he began working under the name Twon Lake and released Artificial Pond. He currently lives in the suburbs and quietly continues to make music.
