ALIAKE, a band that has been building bridges to contemporary pop culture with modern arrangements of Japanese folk songs, has released its third album, titled "NU Folk," which has become a benchmark for the band's activities.
The album features three singers: Miwa Kominato, a member of "Hello! Project", which led the Japanese idol culture, and born and raised in a folk song family; Daishi, a former Sumo wrestler and now a leading Sumo Jinku performer; and Kimie Fukuhara, a singer-songwriter who has gained popularity in Asia.
ALIAKE is a Japanese Nu-folk band. All of their original tunes, which have been written in order to create a new Japanese music, enable people to travel history and sometimes connect eastern and western culture and show people a variety of scenery.
