"Fanboy Fan" is a fully self-produced EP by UL Swap, who handled songwriting, composition, arrangement, mixing, and artwork entirely on his own.
Blending hip hop, electronic, and R&B, the project moves freely across genres, delivering an alternative sound that refuses to be confined. UL Swap's bilingual lyricism, seamlessly shifting between Japanese and English, adds sharpness and depth to each track.
The title "Fanboy Fan" is a self ironic reflection of his own miha nature and ever changing musical style. Rather than hiding his influences, he embraces them and turns that restless curiosity into the core concept of the project.
Throughout the EP, UL Swap's signature theme of nostalgia and newness remains consistent. Vintage textures and modern sound design intersect, allowing the past and present to coexist within a cohesive sonic landscape.
UL Swap is an R&B/alternative artist based in Osaka, Japan. Rooted in R&B, UL Swap incorporates elements of hip-hop, lo-fi, and ambient music to create a genre-defying sound that resists clear categorization. Maintaining a fully self-produced approach, UL Swap independently handles every stage of the creative process, including songwriting, composition, arrangement, beatmaking, mixing, artwork, as well as the direction and editing of music videos. With a chill, floating atmosphere that fuses the mellowness of R&B with the textured feel of hip-hop, the music constructs a distinctive and immersive world. By treating music and visuals as inseparable and releasing works under a consistent aesthetic vision, UL Swap represents a new generation of fully self-produced artists
