Born & raised in Kobe, Japan She found great interests in Europe when she traveled with her husband (a renowned actor, Kon Ohmura) in the late 1960s. Since 2001, she has spent the summer in Olbia, Sardinia, devoting herself to studying Italian language and Canzone. In 2003, she met Maestro Federico De Curtis and learned the art of Canzone Napoletana under his guidance. In May 2015, she received The 25th "EDUARDO NICOLARDI AWARD" which celebrates artists who has dedicated to singing Napolitan songs for a long period of time. She was the first non-Italian recipient of the award.
