Oh oh oh

Oh oh oh

n 2025, The Beatmotors Celebrate Their 21st Anniversary With the Release of Their Fifth Full-Length Album, THREE WHEELER

Marking their 21st year as a band, Japanese rock trio The Beatmotors will release their fifth full-length album, "THREE WHEELER."

The album features production by Hisashi Kato, frontman of THE COLLECTORS and a driving force in the Japanese rock scene. Recording engineering was handled by Tetsuhiro Miyajima, known for his work on acclaimed albums by artists such as Tamio Okuda and GRAPEVINE, while mastering was completed by Moe Kazama (studio Chatri).

The title "THREE WHEELER" refers to the early-1900s British three-wheeled automobiles-chosen to symbolize the band's identity as a three-piece and the tight, solid musicianship that defines their sound.

While the album highlights the raw, focused energy unique to a trio, it also features richly arranged tracks layered with a variety of instruments. As a result, THREE WHEELER offers a broader musical palette that differs from the band's live performances, showcasing their depth and versatility as recording artists.

Artist Profile

  • The Beatmotors

The BeatMotors was formed in college 12 years ago. They were friends from way back, that wanted to start a band. Their vocalist and guitarist Masashi Akiba was eyes f_ng the audience all throughout. I swear, if he was not in a band, this guy could instigate a riot anywhere and anytime he wants. Heck, at the end of their performance, when he removed his guitar from his shoulder, I was half expecting him to set his guitar on fire, or destroy it by hammering it against the drums. He was a total showman. The kind of front man you rarely see these days. The BeatMotors rhythm section of Johnny Yanagawa on bass and Takahiro Shikano on drums were no pushovers also. Johnny was the quiet one, but plays a mean bass. His signature was present in all of their songs. Takahiro, on the other hand, had that Ringo Starr persona with his playing style and the way he smiles and bobs his head. Thank you The BeatMotors for reassuring me that good music is still very much alive and kicking. Rodel Alzona (from [Business Mirror] March 5,2016)
