In the winter of 2022

I spent my days writing songs with a piano that had been sleeping inside my old school gymnasium

An empty school

Quiet winter light

A silent gym

That is where the original song Summer Dream was born

Four years have passed

Through Personal Music I have shared life with hundreds of people

Their stories their joy their tears and their goodbyes

After all those years

This was the one song that quietly asked me to sing it once again

This song was born during a winter journey through Amakusa in Kumamoto with photographer Toyohiro Matsushima

As we drove together we talked like we were dreaming

Maybe this summer we will be here

Maybe this summer life will look different

Those conversations became this song

Summer Dream is my 2026 interpretation of that winter dream

The second track is the original version recorded in 2022

The piano was resting inside my old school gymnasium

Pianist Toshiyuki Yamamoto played that piano and I placed my voice on top of it

The first track is who I am today

The second track is who I was four years ago

I hope you will enjoy listening to both and feel the same summer through different seasons of my life

This release is also the first chapter of my journey as Shohei Uemura

May the dream that began in winter slowly awaken

Until the scenery we dreamed of becomes a song of joy
