An Awkward Shape of Love

"An Awkward Shape of Love" is Koichi Sakata's second single under his own name, following "Yohaku." A quiet, powerful ballad built on acoustic warmth, gradually filled out by a sweeping orchestral arrangement.

Sung by a male voice, but written from a woman's perspective - she sits beside a partner who's fallen into quiet despair, asking nothing, simply staying lit through the night like a lantern. A song about an awkward, imperfect shape of love: unable to say "thank you for being alive," she offers her light instead.
