Why do I run?

To win. To set a new personal best.

Or simply because I love to run.

There are days when we cannot run.
Times when we walk, stop, or leave a race unfinished.
And sometimes,
realizing that we are free to quit is exactly
what allows us to choose, by our own will, to run again.

The cheers and applause eventually fade when the race is over.
Still, we put our shoes back on and return to the road,
even when no one is watching.

Not for the crowd.
Not for expectations.
We run because we choose to run,
toward the finish line only we can see.
