core of mind vol.18 by Haruto Katayama, a Composer Painting Landscapes of the Mind - Sketches of Time Swaying Between Memory and Stillness

core of mind is a piano album series that gazes upon the quiet surface of the inner soul, sublimating the colors reflected there into harmonies of pure clarity. Marking the 18th volume, this work comprises five poetic short pieces, delicately capturing the light and shadow viewed from the composer's present moment, as well as the subtle gradations of memory sleeping deep within the heart.

Opening the album is "Kyo-Shu" (Nostalgia), filled with a comforting warmth and a scent of nostalgic days gone by. The melody gently awakens the faces of the past, guiding listeners back to a place where they truly belong.
Following is "circle," where simple yet meticulously interwoven repeating phrases depict the quiet, awe-inspiring beauty of a world in endless cycle, creating gentle ripples across the mind.
"On a moonlit night with crisp air" plays with the clear, taut atmosphere of a cold night and the quiet glow of moonlight pouring from above. Its refined, crystalline sound brings a sense of pure serenity, as if cleansing the heart in the stillness of the night.
In "Tsui-Oku" (Reminiscence), cherished memories that resurface in unexpected moments are woven together through poignant yet comforting harmonic shifts, painting the preciousness found within the irreversible flow of time.
Closing the work is "Yuuyake-Koyake" (Sunset), presenting the familiar sunset scene that resides in everyone's heart through rich colors and warm lingering resonances. Softly wrapping up the end of the day, it leaves a quiet hope for tomorrow as the album gently comes to a close.

Each piece reflects the presence of the others, together shaping a singular, beautiful landscape of the mind. Filled within every single note is a gentle warmth-one that quietly nestles close to past memories, allowing us to live peacefully in the present moment.
