  GUNWOO is the leader of MYNAME, a five-member Korean visual idol group produced by top Korean R&B singer Hwanhee. The group's name, "MYNAME," represents the idea that each member takes pride and responsibility in their own name and strives to live up to it. Each member is unique, yet they also have a strong sense of unity as a team. In October 2011, they released their Korean debut single, "Message." In June 2012, they released their first single, "Hello & Goodbye." On July 25, 2012, they released their Japanese debut single, "Message (Japanese ver.)." Since then, they have released six albums and mini-albums, eight singles, and more in Japan. On July 2, 2025, they released their first mini-album in seven years, "VIVID." In 2021, he changed her solo stage name to NiiiiiA and released he first solo mini-album, "2Years," on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. In 2024, he resumed group activities as part of MYNAME, and as a solo artist, he regularly released songs he wrote and composed himself and actively performed in band live shows. In 2025, he produced and released two songs, "Your Love (Wind & Sunshine)" and "No One Else," for solo events, and in January 2026, he released "Don't hide anymore" for a solo live show.
