Ryu returns on December 20 with the remake album "New Colors."
Featuring 9 tracks selected from his past nine original albums - along with two previously unreleased songs - the record reimagines each piece through a brand-new production style. All music were written by Ryu, while the editing and vocal interpretation were realized through AI, marking his first project built on this hybrid creative method.
Rather than simply remastering existing works, the album reconstructs each track with fresh arrangements powered by AI. The vocals are performed by a fictional AI singer, delivering an expressive tone that is neither fully human nor Vocaloid - a new emotional dimension. Some songs also feature harmonies between the AI vocalist and a Vocaloid voice. The result is a deeply lyrical set of melodies and direct, relatable lyrics that listeners can easily lose themselves in.
The album cover features Komorebi Moka, who has served as the image model for multiple Ryu projects. Like Ryu's breakout hit "Black Papillon," which generated huge traction on TikTok, this release invites listeners not only to hear the music but to feel its visuals and emotions.
"Familiar yet brand-new."
A remake album that boldly reshapes beloved songs into a new form -
Just as the title "New Colors" implies, the tracks find a fresh palette of emotion and expression.
Ryu started DTM in university and has been creating mainly songs that he wants to listen to. Based on J-POP, his songs feature lyrical melodies and carefully written lyrics about joy and sadness, combined with the natural singing of Hatsune Miku in a sad but easy-to-hear way. The song Groove of Love from his 6th album was used as a commercial song for the Spoon app.
