"NUERAN" is the 7th album by Quaser, a progressive rock band active since the 1970s in Japan. Based in Kobe,
Quaser has always offered a unique worldview, drawing on the experiences and culture of the Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake while incorporating contemporary rock techniques based on traditional progressive rock such as EL&P.
Their delicate yet dynamic sound has earned them acclaim both internationally and internationally.
NUERAN is a coined word alluding to the Anthropocene, the geological era following the Cenozoic, in which humans have transformed the world.
Beginning with "Like a dog," the melodic yet punchy tracks on this album reflect the struggles of J-prog-rock, which inherits the genes of prog rock while also evolving through survival of the fittest. From the middle of the album onwards, long, epic songs that sound like ancient dinosaurs and heavy metal instrumental pieces line up like a mountain range, making it an absolutely satisfying listen.
