The theme of this work is not simply the depiction of nature, but what c.o.d.a. calls a "listened landscape" (Chokei).
Piano resonances and rhythms intertwine with footsteps through a forest, the distant ringing of a bear bell, and unexpected noises, drawing the listener momentarily back to reality from a state of communion with the forest. Then, the dialogue with nature resumes, inviting a deeper journey inward.
The core of this work lies in this subtle oscillation between the outer world and inner perception-the sensory experience that emerges within AWAI, a Japanese concept describing the liminal space between things.

Artist Profile

c.o.d.a.
c.o.d.a. creates the musical works with Piano, voice, and Shinobue (bamboo flute) which is contemporary but also classical, jazzy, and ethnic from her unique view of the world. She enjoys enrich the life with a precious encounter of music and people. The theme of her life of music is "Dreamuse". It's a made-up word with a combination of dream, amuse, and muse. June 2019, first album (SOU) was released. Now working on new album and started a project ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME MUSIC to seek a temporal art based on impromptu performance.
