This single, titled "Honey," is not a song about her sweetness, but rather a love song about the moments when she cannot remain sweet. People are multifaceted; they cannot be seen from a single angle alone. Her smile, her irritation, her silence all of them are truly her.
In the music video released alongside the song, scenes of "her" eating sweets continue throughout, alternating between a radiant smile and a sulky expression she shows no one else. Both the song and the video express a desire to face her without looking away, no matter what her true nature may be.
"Honey, come with me. I will try to stay with you when you're not so sweet. This life is always bittersweet."
Wednesday Wonderland. is a solo project that began in Tokyo, Japan, in 2025. Blending weathered, dreamlike electronic textures inspired by electronica and dream pop with live band instrumentation, the project creates songs featuring a distinctive fragile, machine-like vocal style. Alongside vocal works, Wednesday Wonderland. has also released numerous instrumental tracks influenced by ambient music and lo-fi hip hop. Moving fluidly between full-band songwriting and instrumental beat-making, both approaches are closely connected, forming a unique and cohesive artistic world. Every stage of production from recording, mixing, and mastering to the songwriting itself is handled independently in a bedroom studio. Music videos and artwork are also primarily self-produced, reflecting the project's strong DIY philosophy. Today, Wednesday Wonderland. performs live mainly in Tokyo with a large-scale band setup of up to eight members. Despite remaining a fully independent DIY project, it has achieved significant recognition within its first year of activity. The second EP, Wherever, Whenever, Whatever, Forever, reached No. 1 on the Japanese iTunes Instrumental Albums Chart, the music has been featured on numerous official Spotify playlists, the project has released a collaborative work with Lonely Girl, a label attracting growing attention both in Japan and internationally, and its Instagram following has surpassed 12,000. Wednesday Wonderland. continues to expand its audience while pursuing a distinctive artistic vision.
