Yoshiko "yoppi" proudly presents her latest single, "uruwashi."

This piece was created in honor of the 450th anniversary of Johana Maki-e, which will be celebrated in 2025, and is dedicated to the 16th generation master, Jigoyemon Ohara XVI.

I was deeply moved by the fact that for 450 years, the exquisite art of lacquerware has been passed down through sixteen generations in Johana, preserved as a precious tradition inherited from parent to child.
Each generation has continued to refine and evolve the craft while staying true to themselves. Touched by their dedication, I was inspired to express my heartfelt admiration and hopes through this song-written and produced in English with the wish that both the story and the art will reach the world.

As the seasons pass, they quietly weave themselves into history. Perhaps we feel the weight of that history most strongly when we reflect on our ancestors.
This resonates deeply with my own way of life. It is precisely because we live each day with intention that we can feel gratitude, face ourselves, and learn to cherish and embrace who we are.

Once again, congratulations to Jigoyemon Ohara XVI and to the 450th anniversary of Johana Maki-e.
I look forward with all my heart to the future and to the birth of even more extraordinary works that will continue to amaze the world.
