    Formed in 2022 at the initiative of Tetsuji Matsuo, the group performs mainly original compositions by each member as well as improvisational pieces. Masaki Kai, a double bassist with experience studying and performing in the United States and Europe, serves as the sturdy trunk of the band. Around him, Kenichi Takahashi is beautifully radiant and expansive piano,along with Matsuos delicately yet boldly flowing drumming, flourish like branches, flowers, and fruit in full bloom. Their sound evokes impressions of jazz, post-classical, and ambient music, creating a sonic landscape as vivid and evocative as a painting through rich musical textures. The band name, pronounced JOSUI, means like water.
