'Melody and the Seasons Gone By' is a carefully curated best-of album by Takehiro Watanabe. It features 15 songs, mainly selected from his works released after 2020, focusing on upbeat tracks.
With a youthful worldview at its core, the album includes three brand-new songs inspired by Vietnamese artist Thái Đinh.
All tracks are pop and easy listening, with a nostalgic touch and a breeze of Asian atmosphere throughout the sound.
Originally from Saitama Prefecture, he is a former school teacher (Japanese language). He began distributing music in 2017. He attracted attention with his 2018 collection of covers of Japanese nursery rhymes, and since then has focused on arrangements of nursery rhymes and school songs, comical animal-themed songs, and humorous original compositions. He also produces easy listening albums, a genre he has been familiar with since childhood. Influenced by masters of easy listening such as Paul Mauriat, Franck Pourcel, Percy Faith, and Caravelli, he is currently creating music that appeals to a wide range of generations.
