How time flies with vengeance

They said enjoy the finest

What’s the plus minus

Born Innocent, and die earnest

Looking back, these decades were signs of

Hard times steady in decline

Still we doubled down and always acted fine

These hollow words that decay in mindless

Chatter on palms and yet it’s the tiniest

Thorn in the side of conscience reminding us

That kids on the streets are vying

For love and attention if it weren’t for vermins

On the dinner plate, we’d listen to sermons

Coming from the tv, meaning their versions

Of the same event we saw unfurling

So many questions… sans answers

What good is school if they won’t solve cancers

In society evil spread like rumors

Grinning in pain, utter lack of humor

You said you wish that we had met sooner

Before the fork in the road separated us

Can’t turn back the clock, it’s dated thus

I miss the mornings walking on cobble stones

Bombs raining, skating on rubbles

Yo what did we or can we accomplish

Over a lifetime, lid over iris

Look the other away to a crime, an accomplice

Tell a friend and now I’m the alarmist

Like “please don’t kill the vibe it’s a party y’all

We’re gonna tear the roof off and let the ceilings fall”

Debris pulverized on the ground on contact

Quiet like storefronts closed on zondag

Hand to hand, is it to hold or combat

The peace that we aim to achieve, we been on that

Since the beginning of this epic endeavor

Five deep and still entering my prime

Not a lone prisoner biding his time

Never bite my tongue for a nickel and dime

I’ma tell it like it is it’s a matrix of lies

Smokes and mirrors hide the true divine being

Everybody needs to get set own shine, bright

Does it matter if a line really rhymes

With the words before that, it's all in your mind, right

Why divide instead of multiply

Life hack, stick together, tight layers of ply

Go against the grain, everyday you might crack

Get a splinter on your finger so stuck can't pluck

Avoid kickback from the blade you better duck

Better yet rule of thumb man don’t press your luck

Get a wet wrap if you get a deep cut, hermetic

It’s amazing you know how to heal if you let it
