Minako Ito's Yūgyo-tō, released in 1984, is a hidden gem of city pop, known for its meticulous arrangement produced by Masataka Matsutoya and lyrics that pierce the heart of urban loneliness.

We have now reimagined this classic track through the lens of Escalated Directors. While preserving the original's melancholic melody, we've crafted a composition that oscillates between nostalgia and a contemporary approach.

The track features a distinctive synth sound reminiscent of the Yamaha DX7, tones evoking retro rhythm machines, and a funky slap bass line.

This legendary 80s city pop ballad sets out to swim through the modern night, leaving a vivid impression as the urban sound of 2026 - a sound that goes far beyond a mere city pop revival.
