Raiden: A Vocal Fantasy

"Raiden: A Vocal Fantasy" is a mixed-voice a cappella work reconstructed from "Termination of Desires" and the music featured in the Character Demo "Raiden Shogun: Judgment of Euthymia."

The arrangement employs pseudo-language vocables shaped by Japanese phonetics and Japanese-inspired sonorities. Woven into sequences of syllables whose meanings remain deliberately open are words and ideas emblematic of Inazuma's Archon Quest, including the Vision Hunt Decree, wishes, eternity, Narukami, and Musou, a homophone carrying the contrasting senses of reverie and no-thought.

As words from the story gradually emerge from ambiguous sound and ultimately converge into clearly articulated Japanese lyrics, the piece portrays, through voices alone, the "eternity" pursued by the Raiden Shogun, the wishes of Inazuma's people, and the conflict and transformation born between them.

Moving between sound and language, the work reimagines Inazuma's Archon Quest as a single vocal fantasy.
