Music where the forest's very breath becomes visible.
It's the wondrous power of sound that guides your heart back to the forest.
Amidst the shifting seasons, the delicate sway of temperature and humidity, the whispers of rain and wind, the voices of insects and birds -
all these converge and intertwine, like an unrepeatable symphony of nature's fleeting moments.
This sonic world was born from the profound worldview of mushroom photographer Yasuko Inoue and the tiny lives dwelling deep within the forest.
We are thrilled to release the 2nd single, "whispering rain," from Shingo Mimura's 7th album, "dwarves in forest."
Just as rain nurtures all life, from the smallest plant to the grandest creature, so too is it vital for the humble mushroom.
Recent research suggests that mushrooms might even be a factor in causing rain.
In turn, mushrooms harness the energy of the rain, propelling their spores far and wide to perpetuate their lineage.
It's as if rain and mushrooms engage in an ongoing dialogue, each fostering the other's existence.
This piece was crafted from field recordings on Mt. Rokko in Kobe, Japan, where the natural symphony of raindrops inspired the experimental plucking of piano strings with ping-pong balls.
The resulting work is an artistic and experimental portrayal of the everyday conversation between mushrooms and the sound of rain.
