I typed your name into the wrong machine
It answered politely, but not to me
The screen lit up like it understood
Something I never said but probably should
You were standing slightly out of sync
Half a second behind your own thoughts
I waved, you blinked, the moment passed
Filed away as “working as designed”
No error message
No sudden alarm
Just a gentle feeling
That this might not be charm
I’m not confused, I’m just rearranged
By a system that smiles while I’m being exchanged
Everything fits if you don’t look too close
I’m almost here, I’m almost supposed
There’s a man in a white suggestion
Telling jokes about cause and effect
He says, “Relax, it’s only feedback”
As the floor adjusts under my step
I tried to hum a familiar tune
But it came out straight and chrome
A melody with no opinion
Perfectly comfortable being alone
You call it progress
I call it delay
We’re both correct
Depending on the day
I’m not confused, I’m just rearranged
By a system that learns while I’m being trained
Everything works if you follow the sign
I’m almost yours, I’m almost mine
Static dances between the words
Not loud enough to complain
A tiny loop of borrowed sense
Repeating just to remain
I press the button marked “soul”
It responds with a neutral tone
“Thank you for your interest
Please enjoy what you already own”
We drive in circles shaped like plans
Past buildings named after feelings
“Trust,” “Tomorrow,” “Limited Time”
All permanently under renovation
You ask me if I’m having fun
I check the meter, it’s unclear
The needle shakes, then settles down
Somewhere between sincere and here
No revelation
No dramatic fall
Just a small adjustment
That explains it all
I’m not confused, I’m just rearranged
By invisible hands that insist they’re humane
Everything’s fine if you don’t resist
I’m almost real, I almost exist
If this is the future, please keep the receipt
I might need to return part of me
Not the voice, not the shape, not the name
Just the bit that still asks “why” the same way
The lights go down exactly on cue
The machine applauds, so I do too
Nothing ended, nothing began
It’s functioning perfectly
As planned

Before & After Artifact is an electronic album that explores the emotions and confusion that emerge at the boundary between AI, humans, and the information-driven society.
The title refers to the "artifacts" - the traces left behind before and after a process. While calculation and optimization attempt to organize the world, errors, noise, and sensations that cannot be fully explained inevitably remain. This album quietly focuses on those byproducts: the subtle feelings and sense of dissonance that arise from within the system.
Drawing across elements of chiptronica, hyperpop, and IDM, the music ranges from light, playful electronic tones to hard-edged beats. Through these shifting textures, the album portrays the delicate fluctuations and temperature gaps between algorithms and human intention or emotion.
Between digital logic and human intuition, between efficiency and uncertainty, small misalignments begin to appear. At times with a touch of humor, the album gathers these moments and presents a psychological landscape of a world in which humans and AI coexist.
