In 1987, Es, who only had official recordings on the compilation album [NG II]released by Trans Records, finally released their first album on 2 CDs! They were formed in 1984, so this is their debut album 40 years after their formation.
The members are Takahashi Hideaki, Araki Yasuhiro, and MOTOMI. Araki is the drummer who played with Allergy, Mizu no Hane, and P-MODEL. The album title is apparently read as [Eschatos] in Greek! Additionally, some song titles are in Hebrew and Khmer, and I have no idea how to read them-haha!
Hailing from Japan, Es exploded onto the scene in 1984,forging a sonic landscape unlike any other. This three-piece powerhouse seamlessly weaves together disparate genres - punk, No Wave, progressive rock, jazz funk, and psychedelia - into a thunderous, unforgettable sound. Guitarist and vocalist Hideaki Takahashi, the band's sole original member, has steered Es through numerous lineup changes, culminating in the enduring partnership with drummer Yasuhiro Araki (ex-Allergy, P-MODEL, Mizu no Hane) and bassist MOTOMI since 1989. Known for their explosive live performances, Es remained largely underground until their long-awaited debut album, the double CD [Eschatos)], released in 2025 to celebrate their 41th anniversary. Previously, their only official release was a track on the 1987 Trans Records compilation [NG II], a legendary label that also featured seminal acts like YBO2, CANIS LUPUS, RUINS, and Z.O.A.
