What worked yesterday may not work today.

So we observe.
We listen, feel, wonder, and reflect.

And instead of rushing to find an answer, sometimes we need the strength to stay with what we do not yet understand.

Person Centered means placing the person at the heart of everything we do.

Rather than trying to change someone to fit our idea of what is "right," we seek to understand the life they have lived, their values, culture, words, feelings, and hopes.

And rather than simply facing each other as "the person providing support" and "the person receiving support," we can stand side by side, as one person beside another, looking at the same world together.

Sometimes, while believing we are supporting someone,
we realize that we are being supported too.

Sometimes, while believing we are teaching,
we discover that we are the ones learning.

As we try to understand another person, our own ideas of what is "normal" or "obvious" begin to shift.

And somewhere along the way,
we grow together.

Perhaps that is one of the most meaningful parts of working with people.

Caregiving, social welfare, nursing, childcare, education, counseling, career support...

Our professions and qualifications may differ, but what we engage with is not simply a "task."

It is someone's irreplaceable life.

That is why it is difficult.
That is why we sometimes struggle.

And that is exactly why it is so meaningful.

Because there is no single answer,
