"The Pilgrimage of Celestial Guardians Celestial Guardians of the Sacred East" is a cinematic ritual album centered around the protective deities, celestial beings, and divine figures existing in the Buddhist world.
Composed primarily of traditional Japanese instruments such as taiko drums, shakuhachi, biwa, sho, shamisen, mokugyo, and bells, the album creates a soundscape that intertwines serenity and grandeur, festivals and prayers, fire and wind, compassion and judgment.
Each track reflects the nature of different deities, blending:
- Gagaku-style court music
- Temple ritual music
- Festival rhythms
- Japanese ambient music
- Cinematic world percussion
This work resonates with traditional Japanese spirituality and modern sound design, offering a sound trip of "prayer and awakening."
With deep reverberations, a vast sense of space, powerful drums, and the breath-like tones of the shakuhachi and sho, it guides the listener into a mystical Eastern world.
