~A voice-and-guitar duo featuring voice performer Chu Makino and guitarist Shinji Miyazaki. Their music blends improvisation, humor, and a dash of lunchtime flavor, serving it all on a plate of song.~

Voice performer Chu Makino, known for her solo performances across Japan and her focus on improvisation and noise, joins forces with guitarist Shinji Miyazaki, who leads and participates in various jazz and improvisational units nationwide. Together, they form the vocal-driven duo Tonari no Umi.

All lyrics are written by Chu Makino, while the compositions are primarily by Shinji Miyazaki, with several co-written pieces. This ambitious album transforms the sounds and ideas cultivated through improvisation into a collection of distinctive, song-based works.

    Shinji Miyazaki is Jazz-Avantgarde-Punk rock guitar player/band leader/composer. based in Kumamoto Japan. Performing around Kumamoto, Tokyo and Osaka. Shinji Miyazaki was born in Kumamoto Japan in 1985. He started to play the guitar with friends when he was 13 years old.playing Pops,Rock and whatever he liked. After getting into Miyazaki university, He started to learn Jazz and improvisation music(but, degree was agriculture.) He took so much influence form Takayuki Kato,Kazuhiko Tumura,Akihiro Ishiwatari and many japanese jazz players.That still has huge impact on him. In 2011,He moved to US. He had been in Queens NY for 3years and half, and, taking the lessons whose Eri Yamamoto(Piano), Brad Shepik(Guitar),and Nate Radley(Guitar). He had been playing his compositiones with the Durmer -best ever-Ikuo Takeuchi and many great bass players at Arthur`s Tavern. In 2015, He found the obiyama Guitar- Lab after came back to Kumamoto.
