What am I continuing treatment for?
When there are no symptoms it can be easy to lose sight of why treatment matters.
Protecting our blood vessels means protecting our future and the life we want to keep living.
Treatment is not the main character of our lives.
We are.
This song was inspired by what I have experienced and felt through my work in healthcare.
It is a song about continuing to live life in our own way for many years to come.
No stigma in illness. More freedom in life. Chico creates music and picture books with a mission to eliminate the stigma surrounding diabetes. Through music and the picture book series Stigma Forest, Chico hopes to encourage people living with diabetes to stop blaming themselves, to find strength beyond hurtful words, and to live freely and confidently as themselves. Chico also has a message for healthcare professionals. Medicine continues to advance. As healthcare professionals, we must continue learning, challenge outdated assumptions, and reflect on the words we use when caring for others. An illness does not define a person's worth. For people living with diabetes and for those who care for them, Chico hopes that music can inspire awareness, understanding, and positive change. Toward a world without stigma. Chico
