Kenta Nishimura (1967-2022)
Seizo Fujisawa (1889-1932)
Kenta Nishimura, recipient of Japan's prestigious literary award, the Akutagawa Prize, revered the Taishō-era writer Seizo Fujisawa-who endured a life of hardship-as his master. Calling himself a posthumous disciple, Nishimura likewise lived out a life that would prove to be brief.
Master and disciple who never once met face to face. Today, their graves stand side by side in Nanao, Ishikawa Prefecture. From the heavens (or perhaps from beneath the earth), Fujisawa watched over the course of Nishimura's life.
This recording is a creative work: the landscape of Kenta Nishimura as seen through the eyes of Seizo Fujisawa.
