Lyric

I found a blue gum

Stuck under my shoe

Pulled it off slow

Like a bad idea

It tasted like summer

And broke in two

You laughed so hard

You snorted your beer

And I said, what now?

You said, keep moving

One small mess

Won’t ruin the tune

Blue gum Friday

Stick, then go

Blue gum Friday

I like it so

Blue gum Friday

Stay in my mind

Blue gum Friday

We’ll be fine

We took the long way

Past the chain-link yard

Kids on the fence

Playing cards in the dust

Your sleeve had a stain

From that orange soda spill

You said that day

Was lucky for us

And I said, what now?

You said, keep moving

One small mess

Won’t ruin the tune

Blue gum Friday

Stick, then go

Blue gum Friday

I like it so

Blue gum Friday

Stay in my mind

Blue gum Friday

We’ll be fine

If the world gets rough

We chew and smile

If the road gets long

We go the mile

Then we snap back in

With a cleaner sound

Same old stain

But it don’t weigh us down

Blue gum Friday

Stick, then go

Blue gum Friday

I like it so

Blue gum Friday

Stay in my mind

Blue gum Friday

We’ll be fine
