After two and a half years, Gifu-based The ObsidiaN returns with their highly anticipated second EP, "XIII -The Innocent Scythe-"

Rooted in the spirit of Gifu's pristine rivers and the raw energy born from its landscape, this release embodies what The ObsidiaN calls **"Seiryu Core"**- a sound deeply connected to their hometown, yet constantly evolving beyond its boundaries.

On this EP, post-rock, hardcore, and metalcore collide and transform into something uniquely The ObsidiaN. Atmospheric textures and dynamic shifts meet uncompromising aggression, crushing heaviness, and emotional intensity.

Rather than simply blending these genres together, The ObsidiaN breaks them down and rebuilds them through their own perspective, creating a sound that is both familiar and entirely new.

It is a significant departure from their previous work - a reflection of everything the band has experienced, changed, and carried forward over the past two and a half years.

The EP features the previously released singles "Everlasting Will" and "Blue Flame", alongside newly written material.
Including the opening SE, the release consists of six tracks, designed to unfold as one continuous story.

At the heart of the EP lies the number "XIII".

In Tarot, XIII represents "Death" - not simply physical death, but endings, transformation, release, and rebirth. It is the moment when one chapter closes, making room for something new to emerge.
