YAMA is Takumi's first EP. These songs are songs he made for his 13 year old self. "Yama" means "mountain" in Japanese and was also his first word as a child. The ups and downs of a mountain range reflect the ups and downs in his life at the time he made this EP. Takumi taught himself the piano at 19 and recorded these songs when he was 21-22. The EP is heavily jazz influenced with additional influences of hip hop, r&b, classical and experimental music. Many of the tracks are instrumental and sound like they would be good samples for hip-hop. If you want to hear beautiful chords and interesting arrangements, take a listen to this EP.
