teQ okuwaki, a trackmaker, DJ, rapper, and reggae soundman based in Kawasaki, has released his new 16-track album, *Death and a Hum*, on the beatmaker label "XXX//PEKE//XXX"!
While rooted in jazz, this album draws on a wide range of materials-from ambient music and gagaku to random sound fragments found in everyday life-sampling across genres and eras. Okuwaki applies his unique processing and beatmaking techniques to reconstruct these elements into a mad, otherworldly sound that bears little resemblance to the originals.
By incorporating all manner of sounds as raw material and passing them through his own filter, Okuwaki imbues them with new meaning and texture.

Since he was a teenager, he has been silently making tracks while working as a reggae sound, sometimes rapping, releasing songs as if he remembered from various labels, and continuing to provide tracks and mix to rappers. Started the jazz series as a new interpretation of free jazz as a sound collage and dubwise.
