• Ryuichi Takumi

  (Google) A singer (songwriter) active mainly in Tokyo. With his outstanding singing voice, he creates music that transcends genres. Her music is characterized by ballads delivered in a sweet whisper voice and soulful, life-sized songs. Born in Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture, he often listened to J-POP from the Showa and Heisei eras as a child. He also discovered his talent for drawing due to the influence of his father, who was an aspiring manga artist. When he entered elementary school, he became absorbed in baseball and aimed to become a professional baseball player in the future. From that time on, his self-centered and overconfident personality stood out, and he did not do well at school or at home. He entered a strong high school in Kumamoto on a scholarship. However, he was unable to achieve results due to the strict hierarchical relationship, and in the fall of his first year, he became discouraged and became depressed. From then on, he caused trouble for those around him with his numerous problematic behaviors. Meanwhile, in the fall of his third year of high school, he was shocked when he saw a video of Stevie Wonder's live concert on YouTube. Up until then, he had discovered his talent for singing at karaoke and school festivals where he was taken by his seniors, but he was fascinated by the way he composed and wrote his own lyrics and moved people with his songs. After graduating, he quit baseball and got a job at a hotel. While working, he learned about the difficulties of the world, which led him to reflect on his actions and thoughts and to reexamine himself. At the age of 19, he moved to Tokyo with the money he had saved and began his music career. At first, he made CDs and performed live broadcasts, but in 2021 he participated in a song by rapper MC Michi as a featured artist, and from then on he also performed live concerts mainly in Shibuya. There he met rapper DraG∞N, who is the same age as him, and although they are in different genres, they are allies who can compete and help each other improve. Meanwhile, in 2023, he released his long-awaited album ``Meccha Kishita Hoshii Chakedo 1'', which ranked 7th on the Japanese iTunes R&B/Soul chart. He has released more than 30 songs so far (streaming only). We can't take our eyes off Ryuichi Takumi, who has been almost entirely self-taught up to this point, as he continues to improve his skills and develop in the future. In 2025, he will be producing his second album ``Meccha Kishita Hoshii Chakedo 2'', and it is expected that it will surpass the first album.
