"UBUGOE" is a five-track EP by Japanese singer-songwriter Marina Yamane, marking her 15th anniversary as an artist.
Named after the Japanese word for a newborn's first cry, the EP explores how kindness, hope, and human connections are passed from one person to another, creating new beginnings along the way. These five songs connect Marina's past journey with the future that lies ahead.
Artist Profile

Born July 17, 1989. From Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. Singer-songwriter. While in university, she began posting videos of herself playing guitar and singing on YouTube. Her videos, featuring her playing guitar and singing without showing her face, gained popularity. On July 27, 2011, she made her major debut with the single "Jeanne d'Arc" from Warner Music Japan. Since 2013, she has released an album annually from BURGER INN RECORDS. In September 2019, she temporarily suspended live performances after her third annual solo hall concert. In 2023, she resumed her activities solo at her own pace. Currently working on a project to commemorate her 15th anniversary since her debut in 2026. She performs live in various forms, primarily focusing on acoustic guitar and vocals, as well as supporting bands and guitar/piano ensembles.
