"GARDEN," a collaborative single by singer-songwriter Kei Owada-known for her distinctive presence spanning R&B/Soul to NHK's Minna no Uta-and the one-of-a-kind unit MASSAN×BASHIRY, where rap and guitar intersect, will be released digitally on April 22, 2026.

The track was co-created by the two artists, who have deepened their connection while working in their respective fields. The title "GARDEN" symbolizes the arrival of spring, as well as the "growth," "companionship," and "sense of belonging" that quietly take root and flourish between people.

Guest musicians include acclaimed multi-keyboardist Jun Miyakawa and MPC player KO-ney. Transcending genre boundaries, this "garden of sound," cultivated through the blending of their distinct musical identities, carries a soulful groove where gentleness and inner strength coexist.

Respecting individuality while gently offering encouragement, "GARDEN" becomes a song that empowers listeners to step forward into a new season.

  • Kei Owada

    Kei Owada is a singer/songwriter based in Tokyo, Japan. She was influenced by 1960's soul music as well as 1970's American music artists including Carole King and Joni Mitchell. She has been performing throughout Japan and appeared in shows at well-known music venues in Tokyo including Billboard Live Tokyo, and in the US, she was received well at Apollo Theater's amateur night in New York. She was one of the featured artists in Shinichi Osawa's highly acclaimed project "MONDO GROSSO" in 2017.

    ヴァイナルを巡る針から響くような独特の肉声感と抜群のフロウで形成されたMassan のRAPと歌心。砂まじりのザラつく弦の旋律と会場に漂わせる哀愁感を全身で掻き鳴らすBashiryのギター。互いの才能に偶然にも気付き出逢ってしまった2人は各地で演奏を重ね、 2021年にPlaywrightより3rd アルバム「birth」をリリースする。2019年RHYMESTER主催の「人間交差点2019」にO.Aとして出演、2022年にはBlue Note TOKYOにてワンマンライブを大成功させた。楽曲制作は自身のみならず”JT(日本たばこ産業株式会社)WEB “ ”DUNLOPテレビ”などのCMまたアーティストへの楽曲提供も行っている。 さらに活動初期から縁のあるMummy-D (RHYMESTER)氏、RYO-Z(LIP SLYME)氏を客演に迎えたSingle”羅針盤”・”微熱”をそれぞれリリース。2人をゲストに2024年、 活動10周年を記念したMASSANの地元三沢市で1000人規模の公会堂大ホールにて イベントを大成功させる。 最新作では2025年「可能性しかない申し子達へ」「Daddy」と 配信リリースし、次のアルバムへの期待が大いに高まっている。 時や場所を選ばない2人によって放たれる無双なスタイルは 教科書にはない全く新しい「音楽のカタチ」を提唱している。
