The "Shovel Shamisen Club" is a group formed around the songwriter and composer Kumiko Shimizu. The club uses "shovel shamisen" as a form of exercise therapy to help prevent dementia and maintain physical functions in the elderly. Through participation in the community, the club also aims to prevent social isolation and withdrawal by fostering friendships. The group is dedicated to creating and maintaining a sense of purpose and vitality in the senior generation.
