Orizuru Front Cover

Lyric

Orizuru

Mariko Omori

Let’s make a crane

Fold by fold the paper

With wishes and prayers

One and two, more and more

One thousand cranes our wishes will come true

The boy has

A locket with crane inside

His mother give to her son

“Please come back home safe”

She always prays with love

Believe in the future

The girl cannot move her body well

By the end in the hospital room alone

Even she is making cranes with hope

Fly into the sky all over the world

Carrying the children on a thousand wings

To a place free of pain, fear, suffering and loneliness

May they rest in peace

They lost homes, parents

Siblings, friends and everything

No one knows they’re gone

Feeling alone

The war took the many children’s life

We must not forget

They fly into the sky

Their life carried on a thousand wings

If nothing had happened

What future would you

Have dreaming for the world

Fly into the sky all over the world

Carrying the prayers on a thousand wings

Forgiving, understanding, accepting each other

Always be kind

To make the world peace

Take our hands, folded one by one

Let us make cranes together

One and two

More and more

Our wishes “Orizuru”

From around the world’s friends

    Mariko Omori

Marking the 20th anniversary of the artist's music career, this long-awaited new work, after two and a half years, has been released! To spread the message to people all around the world, an English version of all the songs, titled "Orizuru" (KHMO-0023), Japanese version "sennohaneniinoriwonosete" (KHMO-0022) has been released at the same time!

---------------------------

The artist, being a second-generation hibakusha (atomic bomb survivor), born to a father who experienced the atomic bombing in Hiroshima, has continued to sing a song called "Song to the Sky-Memory of Hiroshima & Nagasaki-" since the early days of their career. This song, infused with the wishes and prayers passed down from their family, has been reborn with a new string arrangement and is included in this new album. Also features three tracks filled with prayers for peace, including a flute instrumental.

Additionally, the artist launched a project to collect origami cranes from fans, and the breathtaking album cover was created using around 2,000 paper cranes. This masterpiece, imbued with prayers in every detail, has finally been completed.
