Song To The Sky - Memory of Hiroshima & Nagasaki (strings version)

Mariko Omori

A flower blooms and looks up at the sky

She smiles to me and dances with the wind

She gently whispers and tells me that I’m breathing

She tells me I’m alive here in this moment

The song I sing, I sing out to the sky

We sing this same song then and now and on

I sing with hope and carrying the wishes

Of happiness for those I love

The pain I feel deep down

Inside of darkness all alone

And the warmth I feel of tears that go down

Running down my cheeks

I know them now cause I

I know them now cause I

I know cause I’m alive

The August sky so blue without an end

So many hearts and wishes that reside

Taken away by light and black rain

Without a chance to say goodbye

Nothing is born nothing from war

Cries of hate the pain the screams

I wanna hear no more

We were not brought into this world

To take each other’s lives

To take the lives of our sisters and our brothers

Please don’t give grief Please don’t repeat

Spreading darkness to the sky

I wanna see no more

Until the day those wishes that

Weren’t spoken find their way

Until the day they find their place

I’ll sing the prayers for those that “loved”

The August sky so blue without an end

So many hearts and wishes that reside

So that their wishes will never fade but keep living

And make it to the children to come

This song I sing out to the sky
