In this quiet town, I don’t know why

I find myself looking up at the sky

Taking the problems I cannot solve

And flicking them off as the stars revolve

Thinking about it every single day

What is the "correct" or "right" way?

And then I start thinking all over again

Does a correct answer even exist in the end?

The same old questions, line after line

The same old answers, feeling far from fine

Inside my head, it’s such a cluttered mess

I want to empty it all, I must confess

I’m running away from who I am right now

Just running fast, no destination, no "how"

I don’t need a life like this, I’m done

Throwing away the happiness that everyone has won

Escaping

To a happiness that belongs only to me

When life feels boring, dull, and gray

And everything seems useless in every way

What should I lean on to keep moving on?

I lose my way until the light is gone

In times like those, I’d rather just be a fool

Looking only forward, ignoring every rule

I just want to keep running, fast and free

There’s no will left inside me anymore

But I run because I want to live, that’s for sure

Even if I never wished for a life like this

Even if I throw away the "normal" happiness I'll miss

I’m going to find it

The happiness that belongs only to me

I don’t know... I want to throw it all away

But it seems I’ve come too far to stop today

If I can’t go back anyway, then what’s the use?

I might as well stop thinking and cut the excuses loose!

Run! Don’t think about a thing, just move ahead

Just do it for now, forget what others said

Even if I never wished for a life like this

Even if someone else’s life is a dream I’d never miss

I’m going to find it

My own way of doing things!

My head is such a mess, it’s overflowing

Meaningless words are all that I’m showing

Just give it a try, do everything you can do

And after you’ve finished it all

Then you can think it through
