• Ryuichi Takumi

  A singer (songwriter) based in Tokyo, known for delivering genre-free music with an outstanding voice. Her style ranges from sweet whispering ballads to soulful and authentic songs. She was born in Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture. In the fall of her third year of high school, she was deeply moved after watching a live concert video of Stevie Wonder on YouTube. Although her talent for singing had already been recognized at karaoke outings and school festivals, she became inspired by Stevie Wonder's ability to write and perform songs that touched people's hearts. Later she discovered African American music and became fascinated by its deep appeal. At the age of nineteen, she moved to Tokyo and began her music career. At first, she focused on creating CDs and performing live through online streaming. In 2021, she featured on a track by rapper MC Michi, which led to live performances mainly around Shibuya. During this time, she met rapper DraG∞N, a fellow artist of the same age. Though their musical styles are different, they have become rivals and close friends, encouraging each other to grow. In 2023, she released her long awaited album "Meccha Kiite Hoshii Chakedo 1" which ranked seventh on the Japanese iTunes R and B Soul chart. To date, she has released over thirty songs through streaming platforms only. Having developed her skills mostly through self-study, all eyes are now on Kouryuichi as she continues to evolve and expand her career.
