2019年、Flaming lipsによる「Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots」のその先を描くコンセプトアルバム「Return of Pinkrobot」とそれに連なる小説、映像、イラストレーション等のアートワークを制作する為Buntaro Natsukawaは「Return of Pinkrobot project」を立ち上げる。Gt.Shinya Fukuda、Ba.Norio Sanzenzuriと共に楽曲制作を始め、まもなくDr.Tatsuro Nakano、Key.Kaori Fukuharaを迎え入れる。様々な制作活動を続けながらメンバーチェンジを繰り返し、2021年にSax.Kazuyuki Jibu、映像制作にJunichi Mogiが正式に加入。これらの制作については、全て自主制作という手探りで途方もない時間を費やしながらインデペンデントな姿勢を貫く。　一時期Shinya Fukudaが失踪するという事件を経て紆余曲折しながら2022年、Vo.Karin Yoshikawaとの運命の出会いを果たし現体制になる。Karin Yoshikawaの加入により、アートワークにさらなる独創性が加わり2023年春、ついに全ての制作を完成させ、立ち上げから4年もの年月を費やし発表にこぎつける。満を持して音楽シーンに殴り込みをかけるべく活動中。
