With sleepy eyes, I crawl around

My tummy makes a hungry sound

I think I hear you down the hall

But where’s my dinner after all?

I check my bowl — it’s empty still

“You already ate,” you say (But I will!)

Is dinner ready yet? Not yet?

My belly’s flat, can’t you see that?

Kibble, jelly, fish or stew

Anything at all will do!

A treat would be fine, okay?

Just feed me something right away!
