SULLIVAN's FUN CLUB, the rock representatives of Sapporo, Hokkaido, are releasing their first original album in about four years - and their very first since launching their own independent label!
This album is a completely self-produced and self-recorded work.
Recording began secretly in November 2024 during the band's hiatus. Without the involvement of any engineers or directors, the four members created the album entirely on their own. The result is a work of "100% purity" - truly pure and true.
The album opens with "SuperSonic 2000," the "Pure True" version of their streaming single "2000" - a live singalong staple. This supercharged arrangement finally captures the exact sonic vision the band had originally intended.
Songs such as "I to Te wo," "Satan-chan," and "Nagisa Sweet Memory" - all polished through live performances after their return - are joined by newly arranged and re-recorded versions of previously released singles.
Brand-new songs include the painfully innocent "Kimi ga Suki da to Sakebanai" and "Stand by You," both exploring themes of pure-hearted emotion.
"Journey," written and sung by guitarist Kazuma Yoshida, stands out as a gripping rock'n'roll number.
The centerpiece is the title track "Pure True," in which vocalist Reo Yoshida lays bare the pain of what he's felt with the band, as well as his unfiltered resolve to keep moving forward together.
Driven by a pursuit of pure & true in their love for rock, SULLIVAN's FUN CLUB stepped away from a major agency to establish their own label. Having overcome a freeze and revival of their activities, the sound they deliver now overflows with joy and freshness.
Their latest album, Pure True, is nothing less than a life-or-death testament to their journey - and a masterpiece that connects their past to the future.
A four-member rock band living in Sapporo, Hokkaido.
