Japan-based multi-disciplinary creator active as a dancer, choreographer, artist, and social media creator. Centered around TikTok, he created his own unique dance style known as Anime Dance, and continues to share a new form of entertainment that connects music, anime, and social media culture with audiences in Japan and around the world. With a total social media following of over 3 million, his strengths lie in his ability to express the appeal of songs and creative works through dance, and to communicate them in a way that fits the short-form video era. As a dancer and choreographer, KOTARO has been involved in a wide range of projects across music, anime, television, and film. His works include the globally trending Loka Loka Dance, choreography and staging for the Giri Giri Dance from Kocchi no Kento Hai Yorokonde, choreography adopted for YOASOBI Idol at NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen 2023, choreography for the ending theme of the TV anime Doraemon, and choreography and performance in the music video for GReeeeN WONDERFUL, the theme song for the film Daimyo Tousan. He has also worked in advertising and corporate promotion, including an appearance in au by KDDI Kokoro, Odoru commercial. As an artist, KOTARO is creating works that combine his own voice, dance, and visual direction. Going forward, he aims to further develop his original music and live performances, expanding his expression not only within Japan but also to listeners and cultural scenes overseas. Through dance as his starting point, he continues to cross over music, visuals, fashion, characters, and social media, building a pop and emotional world that is uniquely KOTARO IDE. In the era of short-form video, he explores the possibilities of music that is not only listened to, but also watched and danced to. His goal is to transform music into something people want to move to, participate in, and share with others.
