The idol unit "POM" was formed in 2023 by three elementary school girls who met at a certain choir in Tokyo.
In collaboration with Awashima Dental Office, they have created an easy-to-understand song about "oral exercises to promote nasal breathing", devised by Dr. Erina Okamoto, vice president of Awashima Dental Office and a certified doctor of the Japanese Society of Oral Surgery.
It has been reported that if the habit of mouth breathing is not corrected, the oral cavity can easily become dry, resulting in tooth decay, gum disease, snoring, poor sleep quality, and adverse effects on the alignment of the teeth.
Establishing nasal breathing in children not only reduces oral bacteria and the risk of tooth decay and gum disease, but also affects the facial muscles, resulting in a brighter face.
Awashima Dental Office teamed up with POM to create this song to help people develop the habit of nasal breathing in a fun way.
Dr. Erina herself appears in the video, which was filmed at the dental office.
