"Light Up" is the third single by the instrumental band MIM.
In contrast to the upbeat character of their first and second singles, this track takes on a gentle, ballad-like form, illuminating the listener's heart with a soft, warm glow.
The guitar, piano, and bass weave the melody as if passing it from one to another, while the drums add color to the song with a wide range of phrases that shift according to each scene.
Its narrative flow - moving from stillness to motion, and from motion back to stillness - encapsulates the essence of MIM's pursuit of "singable instrumental music."

    An instrumental band consisting of four members on guitar, keyboard, bass, and drums. They brand themselves as a "J-Pop instrumental band you can sing along to", creating music defined by irresistibly catchy melodies and a pop-meets-rock sound, even without lyrics. All production - songwriting, recording, mixing, and artwork - is handled entirely by the band members, embracing the charm of a fully handmade approach. Since around 2019, the group had been active only sporadically, with guitarist Yuki Ishii, bassist Mayumu Hidaka, and drummer Hiro Masanori meeting a few times a year to jam in the studio. In July 2024, keyboardist Ryosuke Kasagi joined, marking the start of their full-scale activities.
